Welcome to ZeroC™, the Home of Ice™

The Internet Communications Engine (Ice) is a modern object-oriented middleware with support for C++, .NET, Java, Python, Ruby, and PHP. Ice is used in many mission-critical projects by companies all over the world.

Ice is easy to learn, yet provides a powerful network infrastructure and vast array of features for demanding technical applications. Ice shines where technologies such as SOAP or CORBA are too slow and complex.

Ice is free software, available with full source, and released under the terms of GNU General Public License (GPL). Commercial licenses are available for customers who wish to use Ice for closed-source software.

Ice for Android 0.1.0 Released
Ice for Android is our latest ZeroC Labs project, offering developers a complete Ice run time for deploying sophisticated mobile applications on Android devices. Accompanying this release is the first version of our Eclipse plugin that Java users will find invaluable for programming with Ice.
Ice-E 1.3 Released
Ice-E is our solution for building embedded Ice applications, and this release adds a number of significant new features that aligns Ice-E's capabilities more closely with Ice. With support for thread pools, asynchronous invocations, and objects-by-value, developers have more flexibility than ever without sacrificing the modularity and compact size that makes Ice-E the ideal platform for embedded systems.
